From Eternity Past . . . by Joseph Littlefield

From Eternity Past

Before crucifixion existed the plan to use it did.  Before Israel was made the choice to work through her was.  Before an old man was given a new promise the One of promise gave all life.  Before the Garden and before the serpent and before the fall; all was set, the serpent lost and the fall was righted.  For in eternity past, the Holy One was planned as the seed of the woman, the blessing of Abraham, the Son of David, the sacrificial, slaughtered Lamb of God.  The cross was always the plan.

We look back and see, with hearts of praise, what was looked on and decided by the mighty, magnificent, most Holy triune God.  The cross was set as the way, long before the confines of time, by the one wise to ordain it, the one obedient to endure it, and the one powerful to seal it.
