The Road Between . . . by Joseph Littlefield
In this world where we can be fooled into thinking awry,
where we can believe the lies of this world more than the truth from eternity,
where we can see our present as more real than our future,
we confess our need for you, Lord.
We proclaim our need for you to walk with us on the long, long road.
the road between fear and hope,
the road between slavery and freedom,
the road between brokenness and life,
the road between sorrow and joy,
the road between the place of destruction
and the place of new life.
Like the disciples walking the road to Emmaus,
we are in need of your company.
Like the disciples on the day of Pentecost,
We are in need of your power.
Like all disciples everywhere, in every age,
We are in utter need of you.
Jesus, be among us, in your risen power,
let this time of worship, be a hallowed time;
A time of worship both in Spirit and in Truth.
