Our Experiences . . . by joe littlefield
A man once said of his experience in the Korean War: “I wouldn’t sell it for a million dollars but I wouldn’t pay a nickel to do it again.” Many of our most valuable experiences in life are things we would never want to repeat. In life, I have been humiliated, rejected, shown to be weak and exposed as evil; all experiences that I do not naturally want repeated. But they are some of the experiences most intricately woven into the greatest growth in my life. Through them God has brought me freedom from bondage, growing humility, and a greater appreciation for my desperate need for Christ.
God works all things – even the undesirable – together for good. He is in control. He is full of power. He has all wisdom. And He is love. Through the work of Christ, in all our experiences, we can see God’s glory on display in how He is making us into new creations; conforming us to the perfect image of his Son. He is truly worthy of our worship.
